QUẢNG BÌNH — Eleven fishermen are missing after four boats from Quảng Bình Province have either capsized or are lost at sea in recent days, according to local authorities.
The first incident occurred on the night of May 3 when fishing boat QB 98614-TS owned by Phan Thanh Hùng, carrying five crew members, lost contact with shore.
On the same night, two other fishing boats, QB 93712-TS and QB 92101-TS, capsized at sea. Fortunately, all 12 fishermen on board were rescued by local fishing vessels.
Earlier, on May 2, another fishing boat, QB 92699 TS, owned by Nguyễn Đức Trung, also capsized. One crew member was rescued by a local fishing boat, but the remaining six crew members are still missing.
According to Lê Ngọc Linh, Director of the Fisheries Department of Quảng Binh, initial reports suggest that the boats capsized due to sudden whirlwinds.
