HÀ NỘI - The Central Committee of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front (VFF) held a meeting in Hà Nội recently to discuss the coordination of preparations for the nationwide launching ceremony of the campaign "Eradicate Temporary and Dilapidated Housing."

Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the VFF Hoàng Công Thủy chaired the meeting.

In line with the Prime Minister's Conclusion announced at the meeting of the Central Council for Emulation and Reward (Announcement 422/TB-VPCP dated October 19, 2023), the Central Council, in collaboration with the Central Committee of the VFF, will coordinate the nationwide launch of the "Eradicate Temporary and Dilapidated Housing" campaign. This initiative, set to run until 2025, is a result of discussions and agreements with relevant ministries, sectors and agencies.

The organisation of the launching ceremony aims to rally and mobilise all levels, branches, agencies, organisations and individuals from all walks of life to successfully achieve the nationwide goal of "completely eliminating the use of temporary and dilapidated housing for poor households, near-poor households, and people affected by natural disasters and climate change."

This initiative is in line with the spirit of Resolution 42-NQ/TW dated November 24, 2023, from the 8th Party Central Committee's meeting on continuing innovation, improving the quality of social policies, and meeting the requirements of the construction and protection of the Fatherland in the new period.

At the meeting, participants discussed and gave opinions on the draft plan for organising the launching ceremony, focusing on unifying the time, venue and guest list; supporting resources to achieve the goal of eradicating temporary and dilapidated housing nationwide; and the content of propaganda before, during, and after the ceremony takes place.

During the meeting, Thủy announced that the Central Committee of the VFF, in collaboration with relevant agencies, would initiate the nationwide project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing based on inputs from participating delegates.

The nationwide launching ceremony for the "Eradicate Temporary and Dilapidated Housing" campaign is anticipated to occur in mid-April 2024, hosted by Hòa Bình Province.

Thủy urged the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Home Affairs to meticulously prepare for the ceremony.
