HCM CITY — BASF Virtual Lab, an online platform that allows children to discover the world of chemistry through safe and fun experiments, has added two experiments in Vietnamese.
A total of 12 virtual experiments are now available in Vietnamese at http://thinghiemvui.basf.com.
The two newly launched experiments include “Green Wonder” and “The soil experiment”.
Through the “Green Wonder” experiment, children can learn about photosynthesis, a process by which plants use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to create oxygen.
“The soil experiment” helps children learn about different types of soil, including sandy soil, clay, silty soil and humus based on the composition of the particles, and components that make up our soil, for example air and water.
The German chemical company BASF on Thursday donated 20 sets of computers to help students at Bùi Hữu Nghĩa primary school in HCM City’s Bình Tân District to conduct these fun experiments as well as develop their computer skills.
It also hosted a training workshop for teachers and students at the school to familiarise themselves with the experiments.
"Since 2018, with the strong collaboration and support of the HCM City Department of Education and Training, we have localised 12 online experiments to contribute to the country’s effort to offer STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education to the young people and prepare them for future success," said Erick Contreras, managing director of BASF Vietnam. —VNS
