HCM City to host Innovation and Digital Transformation Week

HCM CITY — A series of 30 events will be held during the HCM City Innovation and Digital Transformation Week from October 8-14.

The annual programme with the theme ‘Digital transformation-new driving force for the city’s development’ is co-organised by the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Information and Communications, and the Department of Industry and Trade.

It is aimed at boosting the connection of innovation and start-up ecosystems in the city and local and foreign ecosystems.

It will highlight innovation and start-up activities and the digital transformation in the city this year.

Business models of successful start-ups will be widely introduced to local and international start-up communities during the one-week programme.

An exhibition on digital technology and digital transformation products will be a focus of the programme.

It will also feature a scientific conference on policies on innovation, start-ups and digital transformation and an international roundtable on digital transformation.

Speaking at a press briefing on Friday, Lâm Đình Thắng, director of the Department of Information and Communications, said that the programme would accelerate digital transformation solutions, technological solutions and innovation in various fields, particularly in public institutions, and the healthcare and education sectors.

The city authorities want to receive more support for the city’s digital transformation and innovation from individuals and organisations at home and abroad.

Dương Anh Đức, deputy chairman of the city People’s Committee, said improvement in innovation and digital transformation over the past year would be reviewed and evaluated, and effective digital transformation products would be showcased during the programme.

He hoped that businesses continue to work with the city authorities to speed up its digital transformation and innovation programmes. — VNS
