HÀ NỘI The Ministry of Transport has requested the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) take urgent measures to fix defects on the Nội Bài-Lào Cai Expressway.

Reports from the ministry show that cracks and subsidence affect sections crossing through the provinces of Yên Bái and Lào Cai.

VEC was also asked to fix blurred or unclear road signs and painted lines which pose an accident risk.

The ministry demanded that VEC, the expressway investor, strengthen regular maintenance and promptly detect damage to repair damaged points urgently.

On an expressway in the central region connecting Đà Nẵng City and Quảng Ngãi Province, the long-damaged road surface on this route also need repairs.

The ministry has repeatedly requested VEC to repair it, but it has not been fixed yet.

The ministry asked VEC to supervise other investors in identifying the damaged sections and fixing them immediately.  VNS
