Việt Nam records 6,068 COVID cases on Friday

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam announced 6,068 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.

The national tally has now reached 10,644,700 since the pandemic began, ranking 12th out of 227 countries and territories worldwide.

All of the new transmissions were domestic. The number of new infections was down by 1,048 compared with yesterday. 4,592 cases were detected in the community.

The new infections were reported in 59 out of 63 provinces and cities across the country.

In Hà Nội, 843 cases were detected, with the capital still having the most infections nationwide.

The remaining transmissions were found in Phú Thọ (386), Gia Lai (341), Yên Bái (280), Nghệ An (262), Hải Dương (230), Lào Cai (226), Tuyên Quang (224), Vĩnh Phúc (214), Thái Bình (206), Quảng Ninh (204), Thái Nguyên (186), Bắc Kạn (174), Hưng Yên (168), Nam Định (150), Quảng Bình (128), Bắc Ninh (112), Sơn La (111), Đà Nẵng (99), Hà Tĩnh (97), Lâm Đồng (95), HCM City (95), Cao Bằng (90), Hà Giang (88), Lai Châu (83), Hà Nam (72), Lạng Sơn (66), Ninh Bình (66), Quảng Trị (64), Điện Biên (62), Bình Phước (58), Thanh Hóa (54), Bắc Giang (53), Bình Định (47), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (47), Hải Phòng (45), Hòa Bình (42), Đắk Nông (38), Bình Thuận (36), Tây Ninh (34), Bến Tre (28), Bình Dương (20), Quảng Ngãi (20), Cà Mau (19), Vĩnh Long (16), Phú Yên (14), Quảng Nam (12), Khánh Hòa (12), Long An (11), Thừa Thiên Huế (7), Kiên Giang (7), An Giang (6), Ninh Thuận (5), Đồng Nai (4), Bạc Liêu (4), Trà Vinh (4), Đồng Tháp (1), Cần Thơ (1) and Hậu Giang (1).

3,225 patients were given the all-clear, bringing the total number of recoveries to 9,245,528 so far.

There are currently 594 patients in serious condition.

One coronavirus-related death in Bắc Kạn were recorded on Friday, taking the total number of fatalities to 43,038, or 0.4 per cent of the total caseload.

More than 214.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered nationwide so far. — VNS
