HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Health (MOH) has ordered food production facilities and food services to be fully inspected, in accordance with the "National Action Month for Food Safety" from April 15 to May 15.

The 2022 National Action Month's motto is "Better focus on the role and duty of food producers in the new era."

In recent years, food safety management has transitioned to risk management, from pre-production inspection to post-production, especially in agricultural products.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has worked with regions to foster the development of safe food production areas, but there are still struggles.

Smaller food producers have not been able to apply new technologies in production.

The MOH urges the agriculture industry to continue the development of clean agriculture supply chains with high-tech applications and control of food safety right from the beginning. Production must be linked with distribution to allow a safe supply of food products for consumers.

The MOH's plan focuses on promoting communication: messages must be true, clear and concise regarding food safety.

Awareness of the roles of authorities, individuals and companies in upholding food safety laws must also be raised.

Food safety inspections must be carried out at all agriculture, forestry and seafood processing facilities. Incidents involving food safety must be quickly resolved to strengthen the people's trust.

Authorities must be active in preventing food poisoning.
