Việt Nam registers new record of daily coronavirus infections on Friday

Hà Nội continued to have a record number of new daily COVID-19 infections on Friday, with 4,549. It is also the locality with the highest number of new cases in the country, the latest announcement from the Ministry of Health said.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam saw a record number of new COVID-19 patients on Friday with 42,439 cases, meaning the country has now registered a total of 2,685,463 infections since the start of the pandemic.

Hà Nội also continued to have a record number of new daily COVID-19 cases with 4,549. It was also the locality with the highest number of transmissions in the country.

Twelve of the new patients nationwide were imported cases and the remaining domestic. New transmissions were reported in all 63 provinces and cities across the country.

A total of 31,028 infections were detected in the community.

After Hà Nội, the other new transmissions were in Vĩnh Phúc (2,158), Quảng Ninh (2,018), Phú Thọ (1,789), Nam Định (1,678), Thái Nguyên (1,652), Hòa Bình (1,567), Bắc Ninh (1,556), Ninh Bình (1,540), Hải Phòng (1,504), Bắc Giang (1,443), Nghệ An (1,339), Lào Cai (1,310), Hải Dương (1,302), Lạng Sơn (1,175), Bình Định (1,109), Thái Bình (910), Sơn La (889), Tuyên Quang (888), Thanh Hóa (885), Yên Bái (875), Đà Nẵng (732), Hưng Yên (719), Hồ Chí Minh City (715), Hà Tĩnh (621), Quảng Nam (607), Đắk Lắk (600), Quảng Bình (575), Khánh Hòa (525), Quảng Trị (458), Phú Yên (441), Lâm Đồng (365), Cao Bằng (357), Gia Lai (330), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (292), Bình Dương (289), Bình Phước (273), Thừa Thiên Huế (262), Điện Biên (252), Lai Châu (231), Hà Nam (209), Đắk Nông (189), Quảng Ngãi (179), Kon Tum (146), Cà Mau (131), Hà Giang (111), Bình Thuận (97), Đồng Nai (91), Kiên Giang (89), Bến Tre (67), Bắc Kạn (53), Bạc Liêu (52), Đồng Tháp (38), Trà Vinh (35), Tây Ninh (34), Cần Thơ (27), Vĩnh Long (24), Long An (18), Hậu Giang (15), Ninh Thuận (14), An Giang (13), Sóc Trăng (13) and Tiền Giang (2).

Việt Nam has seen 200 cases of the Omicron variant so far, in HCM City (97), Quảng Nam (27), Hà Nội (14), Khánh Hòa (11), Đà Nẵng (8 ), Kiên Giang (4), Quảng Ninh (20), Thanh Hóa (2), Hải Dương (2), Hải Phòng (1), Long An (2), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (1), Bình Dương (2), Lâm Đồng (1), Ninh Bình (1), Hưng Yên (6) and Bình Phước (1).

A total of 6,215 patients were declared recovered from the disease, with 2,261,180 people given the all-clear so far.

Eighty fatalities related to COVID-19 were reported, in HCM City (5), Hà Nội (12), Đà Nẵng (8), Kiên Giang (7), Quảng Ngãi (5), Bình Định (4), Quảng Nam (4), Nghệ An (3), Bạc Liêu (2), Bình Thuận (2), Hải Phòng (2), Lạng Sơn (2), Long An (2), Nam Định (2), Phú Thọ (2), Phú Yên (2), Thái Nguyên (2), An Giang (1), Bình Phước (1), Cần Thơ (1), Đồng Nai (1), Hà Giang (1), Hà Nam (1), Ninh Bình (1), Ninh Thuận (1), Quảng Bình (1), Quảng Trị (1), Sóc Trăng (1), Thái Bình (1), Thừa Thiên Huế (1) and Trà Vinh (1).
