More than 16,000 COVID-19 cases registered on Monday

Việt Nam registered 16,815 COVID-19 patients on Monday, the highest daily caseload for a month, taking the total to 2,358,786 since the start of the pandemic.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam registered 16,815 COVID-19 patients on Monday, the highest daily caseload for a month, taking the total to 2,358,786 since the start of the pandemic.

A further 100 COVID-related deaths were also announced, increasing the total fatalities to 38,424.

Among the new cases were 11,147 detected in the community and six imported.

The capital city of Hà Nội topped the list with 2,988 transmissions and 19 deaths.

The other infections were found in Nghệ An (1,247), Đà Nẵng (935), Hải Dương (845), Thanh Hóa (789), Vĩnh Phúc (725), Phú Thọ (662), Hải Phòng (633), Nam Định (596), Hòa Bình (585), Bắc Ninh (510), Quảng Nam (461), Thái Nguyên (396), Thái Bình (387), Bình Định (313), Ninh Bình (293), Bắc Giang (289), Điện Biên (241), Lâm Đồng (233), Bình Phước (230), Quảng Bình (217), Gia Lai (215), Hưng Yên (208), Thừa Thiên Huế (199), Quảng Ninh (196), Lạng Sơn (179), Hà Nam (168), Cà Mau (146), Quảng Trị (135), Quảng Ngãi (134), Lào Cai (128), Sơn La (125), Yên Bái (115), Khánh Hòa (110), Hà Giang (105), Hà Tĩnh (104), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (95), Đắk Nông (91), Hồ Chí Minh City (76), Cao Bằng (68), Tuyên Quang (64), Bình Thuận (62), Bắc Kạn (58), Bạc Liêu (48), Kiên Giang (48), Kon Tum (45), Bến Tre (43), Vĩnh Long (42), Phú Yên (38), Trà Vinh (30), Lai Châu (30), An Giang (29), Đồng Tháp (24), Tây Ninh (19), Bình Dương (14), Cần Thơ (10), Đồng Nai (8 ), Hậu Giang (8 ), Tiền Giang (6), Ninh Thuận (6) and Long An (5).

So far there have been 192 cases infected with Omicron the variant nationwide, of which HCM City has 92 cases, Quảng Nam (27), Quảng Ninh (20), Hà Nội (14), Khánh Hòa (11), Đà Nẵng (8 ), Hưng Yên (6), Kiên Giang (4), Thanh Hóa (2), Hải Dương (2), Hải Phòng (1), Long An (1), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (1), Bình Dương (1), Lâm Đồng (1) and Ninh Bình (1).

Monday's other fatalities were recorded in Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (9), Thừa Thiên Huế (8 ), Kiên Giang (5), Bắc Ninh (4), Đà Nẵng (4), Hải Phòng (4), Trà Vinh (4), Vĩnh Long (4), Bạc Liêu (3), Bình Định (3), Bình Thuận (3), Cần Thơ (3), Lâm Đồng (3), Lào Cai (3), Bến Tre (2), Bình Dương (2), Đồng Nai (2), Tây Ninh (2), TP. Hồ Chí Minh (2), An Giang (1), Đắk Lắk (1), Đồng Tháp (1), Hậu Giang (1), Lạng Sơn (1), Long An (1), Nghệ An (1), Quảng Ngãi (1), Sóc Trăng (1), Thái Nguyên (1) and Thanh Hóa (1).

The Ministry of Health also reported that 2,192 patients nationwide were in critical condition, with 341 requiring invasive ventilation and 13 on life support.

A further 9,665 patients were given the all-clear on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 2,122,380. 

More than 182.4 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the country so far, with more than 74 million people receiving the full two doses and over 29 million people injected with booster shots. — VNS
