HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam registered 11,594 COVID-19 patients on Friday.
The total number of infections nationwide since the start of the pandemic is now 2,315,689.
Among the new transmissions, there were 7,062 detected in the community and eight imported cases that were quarantined upon arrival.
The capital city of Hà Nội still topped the list with 2,756 cases followed by Đà Nẵng with 1,544 (over two days), and Nam Định with 620.
The other infections were found in Quảng Nam (594), Phú Thọ (428), Vĩnh Phúc (375), Hải Dương (317), Hải Phòng (281), Thanh Hóa (277), Bắc Ninh (276), Nghệ An (269), Hưng Yên (264), Bình Định (260), Hòa Bình (258), Thái Nguyên (237), Lâm Đồng (230), Thái Bình (225), Ninh Bình (182), Bình Phước (161), Bắc Giang (160), Lào Cai (132), Quảng Bình (128), Quảng Ninh (116), Thừa Thiên Huế (115), Hà Nam (112), Cà Mau (89), Sơn La (83), Hà Giang (83), Quảng Trị (78), Kon Tum (68), Hồ Chí Minh City (66), Quảng Ngãi (64), Tuyên Quang (63), Bến Tre (57), Đắk Lắk (56), Tây Ninh (55), Điện Biên (51), Đắk Nông (49), Yên Bái (49), Vĩnh Long (43), Bạc Liêu (36), Khánh Hòa (34), Bắc Kạn (33), Đồng Tháp (29), Bình Thuận (26), Cao Bằng (26), Phú Yên (25), Trà Vinh (18), Hậu Giang (18), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (10), Ninh Thuận (10), Lai Châu (9), Đồng Nai (9), Bình Dương (9), Long An (8 ), An Giang (5), Kiên Giang (4), Cần Thơ (4) and Tiền Giang.
Eighty-four deaths were reported on Friday, bringing the COVID death toll to 38,147 cases, about 1.6 per cent of total infections.
There are 2,213 COVID-19 patients nationwide in serious condition, with 305 requiring invasive ventilation and 13 on life support.
A further 8,509 patients were given the all-clear, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,102,456.
More than 74 million people in Việt Nam have now been fully inoculated; while around 79 million people have received at least one dose of vaccine.
Almost 28 million people have been boosted with a third dose. — VNS
