The two leaders spoke highly of the Việt Nam-Canada Comprehensive Partnership, which has enjoyed constant development over the past time, with two-way trade in 2022 topping US$7 billion, up nearly 17 per cent year-on-year.

President Thưởng held that there is plenty of room for the two countries to further deepen their partnership. He proposed that the two sides work closely together to implement the Action Programme to realise the bilateral comprehensive partnership in the 2023-27 period with four prioritised areas – oil and gas, chemicals, Halal product manufacturing and tourism and people-to-people exchange.

President Võ Văn Thưởng affirmed that Việt Nam treasures the multifaceted cooperation with Malaysia, a partner of leading importance of Việt Nam in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

President Võ Văn Thưởng hailed efforts by the two countries in realising the high-level agreements reached during the Việt Nam visit by President Joe Biden, making the bilateral partnership more substantial and stable.

National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vương Đình Huệ said on Thursday morning that the Government and relevant agencies agreed to submit the draft amended Land Law for consideration and approval in the NA’s next session.
