Current and former leaders of the Party and State as well as people from all walks of life yesterday (Sept 26) participated in a ceremony in HCM City at Thống Nhất Hall to pay tribute to Trần Đại Quang, Politburo member and President of the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam.

Representatives of foreign parties, States and Governments as well as ambassadors and charges d’affaires and international organisations in Việt Nam paid tribute to President Trần Đại Quang on Wednesday morning in Hà Nội.

Việt Nam strongly condemns terror attacks in any form, and such acts must be strictly punished in accordance with the law, stated Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lê Thị Thu Hằng on Tuesday.

The State funeral for Trần Đại Quang, Politburo member and President of the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam, began at the National Funeral Hall, No 5 Trần Thánh Tông, Hà Nội on Wednesday. People from all walks of life also gathered for homage-paying ceremonies held in localities to mourn and remember President Trần Đại Quang who died at 10:05am on September 21 at the age of 62.

Việt Nam’s permanent mission to the United Nations has held a ceremony to pay tribute to President Trần Đại Quang and opened a condolence book in the wake of his death.

Việt Nam wants to learn from Argentina’s experience in campaigns to prevent harm from tobacco, alcohol and non-contagious diseases, as well as in providing initial healthcare and improving public health, said Minister of Health Nguyễn Thị Kim Tiến.
