HÀ NỘI — The National Assembly (NA) on Thursday morning began its hearings on cabinet members, with the finance minister in the hot seat first.
The hearings will last for three straight days, from Thursday to Saturday.
Minister of Finance, Đinh Tiến Dũng, will be in the spotlight on the first day to answers questions of the NA deputies regarding tax debt management and tax inspection. He will be followed by the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Lê Minh Hưng, in the afternoon, with a hearing on monetary policies and the operation of the banking system.
On Friday, the Q&A session will focus on the application of information technology in administrative reforms and the State management of the press and communications. The Minister of Information and Communications, Trương Minh Tuấn, will be on the stage that day.
Chief of the Supreme People’s Court, Nguyễn Hòa Bình, will also be present at the hearing on Saturday to take questions on judicial matters, especially those relating to corruption cases.
Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc is expected to answer further questions on the government’s work on Saturday afternoon, wrapping up the National Assembly hearing sessions this year. — VNS
