The approved list comprises Nguyễn Hải Trâm, Nguyễn Văn Cường, Lê Hưng Dũng, Lê Thanh Phong, Đỗ Mạnh Tăng, Nguyễn Hải Thanh, Nguyễn Hữu Tuyến and Đỗ Thị Hải Yến.

HÀ NỘI — The 16th National Assembly’s first session approved the appointment of eight judges to the Supreme People’s Court on Wednesday morning.

The appointments were endorsed after 488 NA deputies voted in favour, representing 100 per cent of those present and 97.6 per cent of all National Assembly members, under a resolution approving the Chief Justice’s nominations.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the legislature passed a resolution appointing Nguyễn Văn Quảng, a Secretary of the 14th Party Central Committee, as Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court of the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam for the 2026-31 term. — VNS
