TEL AVIV — The Embassy of Việt Nam in Israel on Sunday (local time) issued an urgent notice to the Vietnamese community amid the country’s complex and evolving security situation, according to a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Tel Aviv.
In the notice, the embassy urges Vietnamese nationals to regularly follow guidance from local authorities based on their place of residence, prepare access to nearby shelters, and strictly comply with safety regulations.
The embassy emphasised that shockwaves from ballistic missile explosions carry enormous destructive power, potentially causing serious damage in surrounding areas and posing risks within a radius of hundreds of metres.
It also noted that when alerts are issued, people must quickly move to the nearest safe shelter and only leave when instructed by Israel’s Home Front Command.
Amid heightened security risks, maintaining vigilance and strictly adhering to regulations is considered key to ensuring personal safety.
Over Saturday and Sunday, many areas across Israel were under widespread alerts, with several incidents causing localised damage in central and southern regions such as Tel Aviv, Arad, Dimona and nearby areas.
Some incidents resulted in casualties and disrupted civilian infrastructure and daily life.
In response, Israel’s Home Front Command has reassessed risk levels and introduced stricter civil defence measures nationwide.
According to the notice, the new measures are in effect from 6am Sunday to 8pm Tuesday, with many areas under restricted operations.
Regions including Lakhish, West Lakhish, the Negev and the Dead Sea area have been raised to higher alert levels, while central areas such as Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Sharon and Haifa remain under strict controls.
Under the regulations, in-person education has been temporarily suspended; gatherings are limited to a maximum of 50 people and must ensure access to designated shelters; workplaces may operate only if they meet full safety requirements; and beaches are closed to the public. — VNS
