Nguyễn Hải Nam, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in France (Abfrance), described the Congress as a political event of special significance, not only to the 2026–2031 term but also to Việt Nam’s long-term development trajectory.

The messages convey sentiments of friendship and cooperation, reflecting a profound interest in this political event of great significance for the Party, State and people of Việt Nam.

Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the Congress, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lê Thị Thu Hằng said the event welcomed the participation of more than 100 ambassadors, chargés d’affaires and representatives of international organisations, along with nearly 100 foreign journalists.

The draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress identify three strategic breakthroughs: institutional reform; improvements in education quality and talent attraction; and infrastructure investment.

By 2030, Huế aims to become a distinctive heritage city of Việt Nam, while emerging as one of Southeast Asia’s leading and unique centres for culture, tourism and specialised health care.

By 2045, HCM City aims to rank among the world’s top 100 cities for quality of life, becoming a leading Asian hub for finance, services, education and health care, while growing sustainably and preserving its cultural identity.

President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyễn Đình Khang said that a focus on five key priorities for the Party Central Committee and the 14th Congress will help build a modern and strong Vietnamese working class.

At the opening session, on behalf of the 13th Party Central Committee, General Secretary Tô Lâm, Head of the Document Subcommittee, presented the 13th Party Central Committee’s Report on the documents submitted to the 14th Party National Congress, emphasising some key contents and new points of the draft documents for the Congress to consider, discuss and decide upon.

The 14th National Party Congress officially opened in Hà Nội on Tuesday, bringing together national leaders and 1,586 delegates to define the country’s strategic direction, including an ambitious goal of sustaining 10 per cent annual GDP growth and advancing Việt Nam’s long-term development vision to 2045.
