HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has ordered ministries, localities and major corporations to move quickly to finalise preparations for a massive series of inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies marking the 80th anniversary of Việt Nam’s National Day.
In a directive issued recently, the PM detailed plans for 250 projects worth a combined VNĐ1.28 quadrillion (US$49 billion) to be launched or completed on August 19, 2025, as part of the nationwide celebrations.
The ceremonies, which will take place at around 80 venues across the country, will highlight Việt Nam’s achievements in building strategic infrastructure and are expected to generate a strong sense of pride and unity.
With less than a week to go, the PM called on agencies and local authorities to follow earlier instructions and work proactively with Việt Nam Television (VTV), the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group and the Ministry of Construction to ensure every detail is ready.
Project owners must prepare everything from marquees, sound systems and LED screens to high-quality live video links connecting each site to the main venue at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre in Hà Nội. All participating units have been told to send high-resolution images of their projects to VTV and the organising committee by August 15.
Provincial leaders are tasked with ensuring secure transmission lines, power supply, traffic control, medical services and fire prevention at their local events. Venues hosting senior Party, State and Government leaders must also arrange professional MCs and coordinate live broadcasts both locally and to the main venue.
VTV will produce and direct the nationwide live and online programme, as well as a special music performance at the main venue to capture the celebratory spirit and inspire further contributions to national development. VNPT and Viettel will handle the network infrastructure, technical staffing and live signal transmission to all venues.
The Hà Nội People’s Committee will oversee the main event at the National Exhibition Centre, ensuring all technical and logistical requirements are met. The Ministry of Public Security will manage security and traffic throughout the ceremonies.
Major media outlets, including the Vietnam News Agency, the Voice of Vietnam and Nhân Dân (People) newspaper, will run extensive coverage before, during and after the event to boost public engagement and showcase the progress of projects nationwide.
