HÀ NỘI — The prize-winning Pockemon Crew will be hitting the stage in Hà Nội on Saturday at the Youth Theatre.

Entitled #Hashtag 2.0, the programme takes inspiration from contemporary society, in which people spend more time surfing the web with their electronic devices than comtemplating the surrounding world. Pockemon Crew’s artistic director and choreographer Riyad Fghani will recreate this society with messages about the relationship between humans and society.

As a mix of breakdance, capoeira martial arts and Hindu dancing, the show is expected to create a high-quality performance of hip-hop techniques with eye-catching, subtle and humurous acrobatic acts demonstrated by top-notch hip-hop dancers from France.

Pockemon Crew is a French dance company that gathers the world’s standout breakdance talents. They have won 15 dance competitions worldwide, including Battle Of The Year (France), Red Bull BC One (America), KB Bboy Korea and UK Bboy Championship.

Tickets to #Hashtag 2.0 can be purchased at the French Cultural Centre in Hà Nội, L’Espace, located on 24 Tràng Tiền Street.

Besides hosting #Hashtag 2.0, L’Espace will also co-ordinate with Pockemon Crew and Việt Nam’s SINE dance group to organise a dance competition Bboying and Freestyle Hanoi All in One – from West to East, which aims to create a playground for hip-hop enthusiasts in both Việt Nam and other countries. The judges will include renowned French and Vietnamese dancers. The competition will take place at L’Espace on Sunday.
