HÀ NỘI — The Friends of Vietnam Heritage (FVH) on Saturday, November 10, will host a walking tour to discover Tràng Tiền Street and the surrounding area.

Anyone who joins the tour will learn about the area’s development from the early days of Hà Nội through the French period to the present time, hear some of its eclectic stories and history, notes on theatre and the cinema and the former ‘lives’ of some familiar and not-so-familiar buildings. The organiser hopes tourists will discover things they didn’t know about these well-known streets and buildings.

A simple but detailed route will take the tour group from the steps of the Opera House, down Tràng Tiền towards Hoàn Kiếm Lake, onto Hàng Bài, towards Hàm Long and back up to Bà Triệu and Hàng Khay with a few interesting hidden diversions on the way. The tour will take place from 9.30am to 11.30am. Fee: VNĐ70,000.

They will also be introduced to tools including needles and threads, rubber hammer, chisel, glue (PVA), and decorative pieces. Instructors will demonstrate how to bind a notebook before attendees practice themselves by stitching and decorating their own notebook.

The workshop will take place from 2pm until 4pm at Zó Project shop, 10 Điện Biên Phủ Street. Cost: VNĐ300,000/person.
