HÀ NỘI — An exhibition displaying photos from the latest photo book by French photographer, journalist and publisher Nicolas Cornet will open from 6pm tomorrow, November 9, at L’Espace.
Entitled Pagodas in Vietnam, the book features photos of temples and worshipping places revered by local inhabitants throughout the country, from north to south.
While the two first chapters are about the history of Buddhism in Việt Nam and its old pagodas and temples in the North, the third one focuses on Huế and the central region.

The fourth chapter introduces pagodas and Chinese temples in HCM City, and the last chapter highlights Khmer pagodas in the Cửu Long (Mekong) Delta.
Through the 250-page book, reader can see a wide view on the traditional architecture of the pagodas as well as the artistic details of the structures.
Images about daily life also presented in the book to complete the photographic narrative and show the photographer’s strong attachment to Việt Nam for more than 30 years.
The free exhibition will run until December 31. L’Espace is at 24 Tràng Tiền Street. — VNS
