HÀ NỘI – Singer Tân Nhàn praises women’s beauty in her newly-released music video Chơi Vơi (Adrift), with music composed by Vũ Quốc Nam, based on a poem by Hồ Mậu Thanh.

Nhàn, a PhD of the Việt Nam National Academy of Music (VNAM), said the music video is dedicated to all women who are always graceful despite troubles.

“I fell in love with the poem Hơn Cả Bốn Mùa (More Than Four Seasons) by Thanh a long time ago. When musician Nam composed the song based on the poem, I decided to sing it,” said Nhàn.

“It’s a sweet love song that can charm any listeners.”

“With the inspiration from the four seasons, I describe the beauty of women through flowers: lotus in summer, pearl blossom in spring, chrysanthemums in autumn and snowy branches in winter.”

Nhàn added that though seasons change, the feminine beauty is eternal. Although life is full of challenges and difficulties, women never lose their pulchritude and vitality.

Music critic Nguyễn Quang Long said the song described women’s beauty in a graceful way with metaphors hidden in images of the four seasons.

“Sometimes, they are energetic like buds in spring, sometimes they are gentle and radiant like flowers of autumn,” said Long.

“The song is the combination of the competent technique of a musical lecturer and a folk singing style that Nhàn has nurtured and researched for a long time.”

In this music video, Nhàn also presented four áo dài (long robes) designed in a new way by Cao Minh Tiến.

This music video is the first project by the singer this year, following the success in 2019 with some musical works including solo concert The Return which combined a symphony orchestra with traditional instrumental music. VNS
