HCM CITY — The south-central coastal province of Bình Thuận has unveiled a promotion campaign to revive the tourism sector, which has been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.
The campaign “Oh Wow! Mũi Né” was launched on Tuesday by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Tourism Association.
The campaign encourages tourism and travel firms in the province to issue one million promotion cards with discounts of up to 50 per cent for travel and tourism-related services for domestic and international tourists.
Nguyễn Ngọc Lan, deputy director of the department, said the campaign would help coordinate businesses' marketing and promotion efforts. It is also a part of a larger effort to promote the province as a safe, interesting, friendly and quality travel destination.
The campaign will run until 2022.
The province last month welcomed 553,720 tourists. Of that figure, foreign tourists accounted for 69,730, a decline of 12 per cent compared to the previous month. — VNS
