TOKYO — A Vietnamese Book Week opened at a bookstore in Tokyo, Japan, on Friday.
The event at Books Kinokuniya Tokyo is organised by the HCM City Book Distribution Corporation (FAHASA) in collaboration with Kinokuniya Company Ltd. to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The fair has 10,000 books on subjects such as history, culture, education, and cuisine.
There are books on President Hồ Chí Minh, Việt Nam’s history, culture, lifestyle, and people and cookbooks on Vietnamese foods.
Children’s books by best-selling author Nguyễn Nhật Ánh are also on display.
The organisers have also set up a stall at the bookstore to display and sell the latest and best-selling Vietnamese books targeting both Japanese and the more than 200,000 Vietnamese living in Tokyo.
They plan to introduce Vietnamese books at universities and schools as well as Vietnamese communities in the Japanese capital. — VNS
