HCM CITY — Kites of different sizes and shapes can be seen at kite-flying festival this month at HCM City’s Đầm Sen Cultural Park.
The second annual festival, which is held from 9am to 5pm every Sunday until the end of the month, kite flying performances, kite decoration and kite flying training.
More than 30 kite flyers across the city have taken part in the festival with their uniquely designed kites.
A 40m floating platform on Thủy Tạ Lake support the kite flyers in their performances.
This year the festival featured four kites flying at the same time, controlled by kite artist Phạm Văn Tâm from Sao Vàng (Golden Star) Kite Club in Bình Tân District.
Tâm has performed at International Kite Festivals in Vũng Tàu, Đà Nẵng and Nha Trang.
The festival also offers children a chance to learn about design and kite-flying skills.
It is part of a series of entertainment activities to be held in the park throughout the summer. — VNS
