ĐÀ NẴNG — An exhibition featuring the charming beauty of the Vietnamese traditional dress áo dài has opened at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula in the city of Đà Nẵng.

Entitled Áo Dài Việt Nam – Nét Đẹp Trường Tồn or Vietnamese Áo Dài – The Everlasting Beauty, the week-long event displays áo dài collections of two famous Vietnamese designers, Adrian Anh Tuấn and Thủy Nguyễn.

Using silk, satin, chiffon and brocade, each áo dài creation in the collection Secret Garden of the HCM City-based designer Tuấn has been compared by the designer to “a splendid spring garden”.

“Each of my áo dài presents not only the femininity of mature women, but also their charm and elegance,” said the designer and founder of the fashion brand Valenciani.

Designer Thủy Nguyễn, who designed all áo dài creations in the recent movie Cô Ba Sài Gòn – a movie honouring the timeless beauty of áo dài, introduced her collection My Vietnam.

The founder of the fashion brand Thủy Design House was inspired by the famous landscapes and traditional cultural values of the country’s three regions, with each of her dresses depicting the beauty of nature or festivities.

Aiming to introduce to international guests a special feature of Vietnamese culture, the event will end with an áo dài fashion show on February 28 at the Indochina-styled La Maison 1888 Restaurant.
