HCM CITY — The HCM City Department of Tourism, in co-operation with its partners, will organise a free fashion and technology festival on Nguyễn Huệ Pedestrian Street next month.
The three-day event, Fashionology Festival, will include outdoor fashion, music and song shows to entertain residents and visitors.
Fashion shows will feature 300 fashion models, including top models Thanh Hằng and Hoàng Thùy, in the latest collections, with different themes about life and love, by talented designers.
The models will wear áo dài (Vietnamese traditional dress) designed by Thuận Việt, Trương Thanh Hải, Hà Nhật Tiến and Tuấn Trần.
Music and song performances will feature young singers and dancers from leading traditional art troupes in the region, and electronic music and light performances will also be highlighted.
The festival will debut on October 20 to celebrate Vietnamese Women’s Day before more than 10,000 visitors. It is expected to attract more than 200,000.
The department has spent VNĐ30 billion (US$1.3 million) on the festival.
“We will organise Fashionology Festival every year to promote the city’s tourist activities,” said a representative of the department. — VNS
