Mnet Asian Music Awards tour begins in Việt Nam

South Korea-based Mnet Asian Music Awards 2017 (MAMA), Asia’s biggest music awards event, will kick off its MAMA Week tour with a concert in HCM City on November 25.

HCM CITY – South Korea-based Mnet Asian Music Awards 2017 (MAMA), Asia’s biggest music awards event, will kick off its MAMA Week tour with a concert in HCM City on November 25.

In Việt Nam, the concert will be held at Hòa Bình Theatre in District 1, featuring famous South Korean singers, boy bands and girl groups, such as TWICE and GOT7.

The tour will then head to Japan on November 29 and Hong Kong on November 30.

The 2017 MAMA awards ceremony will take place at Asia World-Expo in Hong Kong on December 1, which is expected to attract leading artists in Asia.

According to the press release, Shin Hyung-kwan, president of Music Contents Business Division at CJ E&M, the MAMA’s organiser, said: “Celebrating its 9th year, 2017 MAMA will offer wider expansion and growth in size and volume to unite worldwide music fans.”

Begun in 1999, the event was first called the Mnet KM Music Festival to promote Korean music. It was renamed the Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2009.

MAMA was held in Macau in 2010, Singapore in 2011, and Hong Kong from 2012-2016. — VNS
