HÀ NỘI — From 6pm tomorrow, Art Vietnam will present the new works of Đinh Ý Nhi, one of Việt Nam’s most celebrated female artists.

Nhi dared to confront convention back in 1995, by breaking with tradition and expressing the vast range of human expression through her stark black and white stick figures on paper, the bold representations flying in the face of accepted feminine artworks.

Today, the artist is very reclusive, rarely seen yet quietly working away in her studio. This latest body of work, My Little Happiness, is a meditation on life and on treasuring every solitary moment.

The artist goes daily to the same spot, at the same time and sees the same people. A silent, quiet observer, Nhi makes no judgments, she doesn’t analyse, she simply observes, following her feelings.

Her meditation brings us to the present moment where we focus on each movement with the collective mass of humanity before us.

My Little Happiness will be open to visit until July 3. Art Vietnam Gallery is located on the 2nd floor, 24 Lý Quốc Sư Street. — VNS
