HÀ NỘI The fourth Việt Nam-South Korea Friendship Culture Day will take place this weekend in HCM City with a series of fun and artistic activities.
The event features an art show by artists from the two countries, along with culinary activities, a place to try on hanbok (traditional Korean dress), a photo booth and folk games.
“The day will see a variety of activities combining Vietnamese and Korean traditions, offering a chance for local people to directly experience Korean culture," said Director of the Korean Cultural Centre Choi Seung-jin.
"Hopefully, the event will further strengthen the friendship between the two countries through culture. In the near future, we will continue to have more activities throughout Việt Nam, bringing the two countries closer together.”
Co-organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Việt Nam and the Korean Cultural Centre in coordination with other relevant Korean agencies, the event aims to promote the friendship between the two countries and to popularise Korean culture to people in HCM City.
A major highlight of the day will be a performance by the Noreum Machi troupe. The music collective was formed in 1993 by master musician Ju Hong-kim after graduating from Korean Traditional University, where he had studied the art of Samul-Nori percussion.
He has established Noreum Machi as the most widely recognised Korean traditional music ensemble in South Korea, as well as performing internationally in more than 30 countries.
V-pop singers such as CONGB, Ngô Lan Hương, K-pop cover dancers and a DJ show will also shine on the day. The Korean National Taekwondo Team will perform at the event as well.
This year's Culture Day will see the participation of Korean businesses, including CJ ENM, CGV, Kakao Friends and Dook'n Dook'n, giving the public the opportunity to directly experience Hallyu content like movies, K-beauty and Korean cartoon characters.
Korean food establishments like Daesang and Binggrae will also introduce and promote a variety of Korean cuisine. Event attendees will learn about and enjoy the unique flavours of Korean dishes.
The event will take place on Lê Lợi Road in HCM City. VNS
