SƠN LA -- Themed 'Mộc Châu - 'The Call of the Love Season', this year's Culture and Tourism Week offers numerous events and activities for locals and visitors.

The festival connects cultural products, promotes tourism development, hopes to attract investment into the local sector and simultaneously creates distinctive tourist products.

Culture and Tourism Week marks the announcement of the national intangible cultural heritage recognition for three heritage sites in Mộc Châu District, including the Rain Praying Festival of the White Thái people at Mường Sang Commune, decorative art on the costumes of the Dao Tiền people and Mo Mường Ritual of the Mường Ethnic Group.

Chairman of the Mộc Châu District People's Committee, Lê Trọng Bình, highlighted that Mộc Châu Culture and Tourism Week 2024 aims to promote the potential of tourism in this district, attracting investors as a step to building it as a leading area for visitors in the northwest region.

There will also be folk games and an introduction to local art, along with cuisine competitions, through the ethnic cultural competition camp and Mông ethnic cultural space.

Visitors will also be able to check out over 200 booths introducing safe agricultural products of Sơn La Province.

At Mộc Châu Island, a market themed Tiếng khèn gọi bạn (The Khèn Calls) conveys folk dance performances recreating traditional Thái weddings, and musical performances.

Having a fresh and cool climate all year round, Mộc Châu District is endowed with diverse and abundant tourism resources and particularly beautiful and majestic natural landscapes.

It is home to various Vietnamese ethnic groups including Thái, Mường, Mông, Dao, Xinh Mun and Khơ Mú. Each group has its own cultures, traditions, arts and food, for visitors to the land to explore.

The Mộc Châu national tourism site, located in Mộc Châu Vân and Vân Hồ Districts, has developed numerous attractions, resorts and entertainment areas in recent years, including the Mộc Châu Island Tourism Area – Bạch Long Glass Bridge, Phượng Hoàng Premium Resort – Bản Áng Pine Forest, Dải Yếm Waterfall Ecotourism Site – Tình Yêu Glass Bridge and the Hang Táu Primitive Village.

For two consecutive years, 2022 and 2023, it was voted 'The world's leading regional natural destination' by the World Travel Awards.
