KHÁNH HOÀ – The central province of Khánh Hoà has planned multiple activities, some for the first time, to attract tourists during the remaining months of this year.

The provincial tourism authority has attracted investment in building large-scale, high-quality amusement parks, accomodation and luxury shopping centres to better serve tourists' needs.

Over 230 travel service businesses, including 187 international travel businesses are operating in the province.

These facilities are capable of receiving around 10 million visitors annually for accommodation, sightseeing, and relaxation.

Nguyễn Thị Lệ Thanh, director of the Khánh Hoà Department of Tourism, said entertainment, cultural, and sports activities will also continue to be organised throughout the remaining summer months, such as the Cam Ranh Lobster Festival 2024; the third Khánh Sơn Fruit Festival 2024 from August 10-13; and the WonderFest 2024 International Sea Festival throughout the summer at Vinpearl Harbour and VinWonders Nha Trang in Hòn Tre Island.

Currently, Korea and China are the two largest international tourist markets for Khánh Hoà tourism, followed by visitors from Kazakhstan, Thailand, and Malaysia.

According to the Khánh Hoà Department of Tourism, in the first seven months of 2024, the province welcomed over 6.7 million visitors for accommodation, sightseeing, and relaxation, including more than 2.76 million international tourists and nearly 4 million domestic tourists, generating total revenue of over VNĐ33 trillion (US$1.3 billion)

The average occupancy rate of accommodation facilities across the province reached 84.3 per cent, with four and five-star facilities achieving over 90.6 per cent.

In July alone, the peak of the summer season, Khánh Hoà organised many major cultural and tourism events such as the Nha Trang International Light Bay Festival 2024, which included the first drone light show competition in Việt Nam with the participation of four teams from Korea, China, France, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

As a result, the province welcomed 1.55 million visitors, including 395,000 international tourists.

Khánh Hoà has over 1,180 tourist accommodation establishments with more than 64,000 rooms.

The number of rooms in four and five-star hotels accounts for 40 per cent, including world-renowned hotel brands such as InterContinental, Best Western, Six Senses, Radisson, Movenpick, Eastin Grand, and Accor Hotels & Resorts.

In 2024, Khánh Hoà aims to welcome 9 million visitors for accommodation, including 3 million international visitors, 6 million domestic visitors, and generate approximately VNĐ40 trillion in tourism revenue. VNS
