LÂM ĐỒNG – The World Flower Council (WFC) in collaboration with Đà Lạt University will host the 2023 WFC Summit in Đà Lạt City of Lâm Đồng Province from September 8-12.
The event, with the theme of “Vietnam - Blooming with Timeless Charm”, will attract more than 500 floral professionals in all fields of the industry from 20 countries.
They will participate in a series of activities such as WFC member delegate meetings, and workshops on fruit, vegetable, and flower design.
The programme will include the WFC Championship Cup and WFC Friendship Cup, where floral designers from many countries can show off their talents and skills, and share their experiences in floral arts to each other.
The summit will also have a demonstration of flower arrangements with the theme of “My Country Design” presented by 12 floral designers representing 12 countries.
The event’s highlighted activity will be a flower fashion show featuring fashion designs made of flowers, Vietnamese traditional costumes, and music and dance performances.
According to the organisers, all flowers used in the summit will be from Đà Lạt City, and the event they will be donated to Đà Lạt University, temples, and other institutions.
During the summit, the organisers will offer a city tour to the summit delegates, visiting Đà Lạt Flower Park, Đà Lạt Rose Garden, and Trúc Lâm Đà Lạt Zen Monastery, one of the largest monasteries in Việt Nam which was built on a hill of 24 hectares in 1993.
The WFC Summit was first held in 1983 in Japan, with the mission of promoting world peace through the beauty of flowers. It provides the delegates an opportunity to exchange design techniques and ideas with industry professionals around the world, and learn about the latest care and handling techniques.
The 2023 WFC Summit will take place at Đà Lạt University. – VNS
