HCM CITY — Vietnamese citizens and expatriates are encouraged to participate in an art and literary contest to promote the history and achievements of Việt Nam and HCM City.

The contest, having the theme of “Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh – 50 Năm Tự Hào Bản Anh Hùng Ca” (HCM City – 50 Years of Patriotic Pride), is organised by the city People’s Committee as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification (April 30, 2025).

Entries can be in various categories such as music compositions, movies, dance pieces, theatrical plays, paintings, installation works, sculptures, photos, short stories, novels, and poems.

The works must highlight the historical values of the national liberation fight, and the building and development of modern HCM City with the aim of promoting the quintessence of the progressive Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.

They must be created from January 1, 2022 to April 30, 2024.

Contestants can send their entries in different categories to the city Department of Culture and Sports on 164 Đồng Khởi Street in District 1 by April 30, 2024.
