The impressive performance of two female acrobats Phạm Thị Hướng and Trương Hồng Thúy received loud applause from both judges and the audience.

Entitled Đu Son (Red Swing), the act was directed by the international award-winning circus and People’s Artist Tống Toàn Thắng, who also participated in the event.

Thắng said the acrobats’ skillful techniques, together with the unified harmony of music, costumes, and props, conquered the jury.

According to the artist, this is the second time Việt Nam received an invitation from the festival’s organisation board. Last year, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnamese artists couldn’t attend.

“This year, Vietnamese artists have tried their best to stage a special performance in this international event," Thắng said.

"The Golden Prize won by Hướng and Thúy has reaffirmed the talent of Vietnamese artists as well as the position of Vietnamese circus art in the international arena. This will be a motivation for the circus artists to continue to be committed and devoted to the development of the country's circus art."

The 2022 International Circus Art Festival was held from October 22-26 in Russia with the participation of circus artists from nine countries. This year's edition is exclusively for female artists with the theme “Circus Princess”. — VNS
