Kiên Giang calls for investment in three projects in Phú Quốc

The Mekong Delta province of Kiên Giang is seeking investment for three new projects on the island of Phú Quốc with investment totalling more than VNĐ4.85 trillion (US$208.5 million).

HÀ NỘI — The Mekong Delta province of Kiên Giang is seeking investment for three new projects on the island of Phú Quốc with investment totalling more than VNĐ4.85 trillion (US$208.5 million).

According to the Phú Quốc management board of economic zones, the island is inviting bids for the Bắc An Thới high-end villa area which covers around 52.5ha in An Thới township. The project has total investment of more than VNĐ3.4 trillion and a building coverage ratio of 30 to 35 per cent.

The second project, to build villas, business and services at Bãi Trường tourist complex in Dương Commune, needs approximately VNĐ1.07 trillion in investment. The project stretches across 11.24ha and has a building coverage ratio of 20 to 25 per cent.

Bidders are also being invited to invest VNĐ372.5 billion in a 14.9ha domestic waste treatment plant at Bãi Bổn hamlet, Hàm Ninh Commune which has a designed capacity of 350 tonnes of waste per day.

Kiên Giang Provincial People's Committee has assigned the economic zone management board to publish the project list and organise the bidding procedures to select investors in accordance with legal provisions.

The province has pledged to provide investors with incentives in the form of tax rates, corporate income tax, land and support in developing infrastructure.

Located on the Việt Nam-Cambodia-Thailand marine economic corridor, Phú Quốc is dubbed the ‘pearl’ island. Phú Quốc has targeted welcoming at least half a million international tourists this year. — VNS
