HÀ NỘI — After several motor vehicles and specialised motor vehicles were removed from the list of goods potentially posing safety risks, the Customs Department has instructed regional customs branches to continue processing procedures in line with guidance from the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Science and Technology to prevent congestion at border gates.
The department said it had consolidated opinions from relevant authorities to ensure a unified approach to handling the matter.
Although these vehicles are no longer included in the list of goods potentially posing safety risks under the management of the Ministry of Construction, they must still comply with regulations on road traffic order and safety and meet technical quality and environmental protection requirements during importation, production, assembly and circulation.
According to the Vietnam Register, the items concerned are classified as vehicles rather than machinery, equipment or technological production lines. Their removal from the management list does not exempt them from compliance with other specialised regulations.
On that basis, the Customs Department has asked customs units to continue handling import procedures in accordance with guidance from the relevant ministries and agencies, ensuring timely clearance while maintaining strict oversight. — VNS
