HCM CITY — A week-long exhibition showcasing Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu’s speciality and OCOP products opened at the Export Showroom on HCM City’s Nguyễn Huệ Boulevard.
On display are over 100 items, including honey, reishi mushroom, pepper, tea, coffee, noodles, cocoa powder, fish sauce, spices, handicrafts, rice, fruits, and seafood.
Lê Anh Hoàng, deputy director of the Bà Riạ - Vũng Tàu Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Centre, said that in recent years, the province has enhanced activities to promote and display its goods in HCM City, a key market for its manufacturers.
He said the programme offers an opportunity for them to promote and introduce their OCOP and specialty items and other signature products to retail distributors, consumers and international visitors to HCM City.
“With its message ‘Linking for lifting up competitiveness, connecting to expand the market," I hope the programme will enable businesses and producers from Bà Riạ - Vũng Tàu to find partners,” Hoàng said.
Hồ Thị Quyên, deputy director of the Investment and Trade Promotion Centre of HCM City (ITPC), said the programme aims to showcase the province’s image, potential and strengths and foster cooperation between the two localities.
It would also help businesses and cooperatives in the province link up with distributors and businesses in the city, she said.
She emphasised that as a leading economic centre and hub for finance, trade, culture, science, technology, innovation, and education in the southern key economic region and country, the city has actively engaged in regional cooperation, helping leverage strengths to progress towards the goal of sustainable development for both sides.

She highlighted significant potential for cooperation between the city and the province, particularly in trade, investment and tourism.
In future, the ITPC would coordinate with localities in the southeastern region, Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu in particular, to organise trade and investment promotion activities to help businesses promote and sell their products in the country’s most dynamic market, she said.
The event, organised by the ITPC and the Bà Riạ-Vũng Tàu Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Centre, has attracted the participation of 34 businesses and co-operatives from the province.
It will run until October 28. — VNS
