HCM CITY — Vietjet will launch a new route connecting HCM City and Osaka (Japan) later this year, following its first Hà Nội – Osaka route.

The new route aims to better meet the travel and trading demands of tourists and local people, the airline said in a statement.

The HCM City – Osaka route will operate a daily return flight from December 14, with a flight time of more than five hours per leg. The flight will depart from HCM City at 1.40am and arrive in Osaka at 8.30am (local time). The return flight takes off at 9.30am (local time) and lands in HCM City at 1.30pm.

Vietjet also announced that it has transferred its flight operations from Terminal T2 to Terminal T1 at the Yangon International Airport in Myanmar, starting from this month.

Terminal T1 was inaugurated in March 2016, and is now one of the main gateways to Myanmar. At terminal T1, Vietjet’s check-in counters are at row B – counter 7, 8, 9.

This move is to meet the requirements of the airport’s renovation as well as Vietjet’s development, as well as provide the best services for passengers flying to and from Yangon, the airline said.

Aiming to be a “Consumer Airline”, Vietjet has continued to open new routes, add more aircraft, invest in modern technology and offer more added-on products and services to serve all demands of customers.

Beside offering travel opportunities to millions of people, Vietjet always takes part in charity, social and cultural activities.

From now to August 31, the carrier will take part in the “Let’s clean up the ocean in 2018” campaign, launched by the Việt Nam Youth Union’s Central Committee and the National Volunteer Centre in Hà Nội last week.

Under the campaign, it will help with practical activities including the “Let’s clean up the ocean” Central Festival in Kiên Giang Province’s Phú Quốc Island on July 20 and the “Let’s clean up the ocean” poster design and initiative contest.

It will also organise other social activities to encourage fishermen in coastal provinces to keep sailing while establishing youth volunteer teams to protect the ocean environment in coastal areas.

Nguyễn Đức Thịnh, vice president of Vietjet said that taking care of community charities and environmental protection are part of the airline’s sustainable development plan that it has implemented annually.

The campaign is being deployed in 28 coastal cities and provinces across the country. —VNS
