Sao Khue Awards launched

The Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) on Monday launched the 2017 Sao Khue Awards under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Information and Communications.

HA NOI — The Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) on Monday launched the 2017 Sao Khue Awards under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Information and Communications.

The award aims to honour high-quality and effective IT products and services in the domestic market, which can also make inroads into international markets.

The award has contributed to promoting IT application and development in Viet Nam in the past years.

The organising board will select 10 excellent products and services in terms of socio-economic efficiency, brand reputation, revenue and market share, as well as customers and technological innovation. Programmes to promote awarded products and services will be arranged nationwide during the year. The deadline for submission is March 6 and the results will be announced at an award ceremony at the end of April this year. Viet Nam has recorded strong development in software and IT services, which achieved average growth of up to 20-35 per cent in 2000-2010, while it was 10-15 per cent over the last five years.

Revenue of the software and digital content sector reached more than US$3 billion in 2015.The sector in particular contributed to national socio-economic development and further improving Viet Nam’s position on the international IT map.

VINASA chairman Truong Gia Binh highlighted Vietnamese IT firms’ competiveness in the international market, expressing his hope that the Sao Khue award will help bring more opportunities to Vietnamese IT enterprises to introduce their products and services in foreign markets. — VNS
