HÀ NỘI — The budget carrier Vietjet inaugurated on Tuesday the first route connecting Cần Thơ and Quảng Ninh, opening up opportunities to develop tourism and trade much more easily than ever between two major economic regions.
The inaugural flight has been welcomed by the Chairman of Cần Thơ City People’s Committee, Trần Việt Trường and the Acting Chairman of Quảng Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, Cao Tường Huy, and many leaders of related departments and agencies of the two provinces, tourism and travel companies, local people and visitors.
The first route connecting Cần Thơ and Quảng Ninh will operate two return flights per week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
With only 2 hours and 20 minutes of flight time per leg, Vietjet helps connects people and tourists from the capital of the southwest region to Quảng Ninh.
Quảng Ninh is the key economic region of the northeast, which owns the world’s natural heritage Hạ Long Bay, while Cần Thơ possesses river landscapes and gardens, as well as large agricultural areas.
The new route makes it easier for the transportation of goods and fresh seafood from the west to Vân Đồn, Móng Cái border gate (Quảng Ninh) and vice versa. — VNS
