I. Criteria:

  • Being a citizen of a country where English is an official language;

  • Possessing a university degree or higher, or equivalent (preferably in journalism, social sciences or international relations); and having at least three years of working experience in the field of journalism and communication in countries where the main language is English, certified by the previous employer(s); OR

  • Having at least five years of experience and having a practising certificate suitable for the position of English copy editor; OR

  • Having a work permit suitable for the position of an English copy editor;

  • Possessing basic office computer skills and able to use Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, and InDesign.

  • Experience in producing multimedia products and skills in communicating on social media are preferred.

II. Requirements:

  • Having a health certificate or medical examination certificate issued by a Vietnamese medical agency or organisation, still within its 12-month validity period, and meeting the job requirements.

  • Having a criminal record certificate (issued within the last six months).

  • Living in Hanoi to work in person in the Việt Nam News and Law’s newsroom.

In the absence of a work permit, Việt Nam News and Law will support the application process for a work permit, provided that the candidate commits to working for the newspaper for at least two years.
