HÀ NỘI — National football team head coach Park Hang-seo on Thursday donated US$5,000 to the Fund for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Hà Nội.

The South Korean manager said Việt Nam and the whole world are currently working hard to battle the coronavirus. He wanted to give a small contribution and hoped it would partly help people who were affected by the virus and those whose daily income had suffered.

Park said together people would bring the pandemic to an end.

Responding to Park, President of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Trần Thanh Mẫn said: “The Government and people of Việt Nam appreciate coach Park Hang-seo’s contribution to national football as well as the relationship between Việt Nam and South Korea. Park is a person with a large influence in the community, so what he has done will raise people’s awareness.”

Earlier, the SEA Games' gold medal winning coach took part in a hand-washing challenge by the Ministry of Health on social media, spreading awareness of self-protection to people against the pandemic. — VNS
