HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam won bronze at the K1 Premier League, Shanghai leg, which closed on Sunday.

The Vietnamese women’s kata (performance) team beat Iran 25-24 in the third place match.

The gold went to Japan who defeated China 26-24.

In the women’s kata individual, ASEAN champion Nguyễn Thị Phương worked hard but failed to advance to the second round.

In the kumite, Southeast Asian Games winner Hồ Thị Thu Hiền was defeated in the third round of the women’s U68kg pool.

Athletes will square up again for the Tokyo leg from September 6-8. — VNS
