HÀ NỘI — Marella Vania Salama of the Philippines’s Eleven Corratec team won the penultimate stage of the Bình Dương International Women’s Cycling Tournament – Biwase Cup 2019 on Friday.

Salama triumphed in the 120km stage from Phan Thiết City to Vũng Tàu City, which she competed in a time of 2:55.27.

Trần Thị Kim Anh of Đồng Tháp and Nguyễn Thị Thu Mai of Lộc Trời Group finished second and third.

Although Japanese cyclist Shoko Kashiki did not place in the top three on the day, she still held the yellow jersey with the best overall time of 19:41.20, followed by her compatriot Kaneko Hiromi and then Anh.

The green jersey award belonged to Jutatip Maneephan of Thailand with 106 points at the end of the stage and Nguyễn Thị Kim Cương of Cần Thơ wore the white jersey as the best young cyclist.

There were no changes in the team rankings. Japan maintained their lead with an overall time of 59:13.52, followed by South Korea’s Samyang and Biwase Bình Dương.

Today, cyclists will compete in the last stage from Vũng Tàu to the city of Thủ Dầu Một, stretching 115km. — VNS
