HÀ NỘI — Sông Lam Nghệ An FC has brought back midfield duo Hoàng Văn Bình and Nguyễn Quang Tình for their second stints with the club ahead of the new season.

Tình was the club’s captain for several years before moving to Cần Thơ in 2016. During his time with Sông Lam Nghệ An, he won a V.League title in 2011.

Cần Thơ performed poorly in the V.League last year and were relegated to the First Division. As Tình’s deal with the club ended at the end of last season, he decided to return to his former club.

Bình left Sông Lam Nghệ An for Becamex Bình Dương in 2013 after winning the V.League trophy, the National Cup and the National Super Cup in 2011.

He won two V.League titles and one National Cup with Bình Dương before moving to FLC Thanh Hóa in 2016.

The two players, whose contract details were not disclosed, are expected to fill the void left by national team player Quế Ngọc Hải, who was sold to Viettel last week. — VNS
