Việt Nam still in FIFA top 100

Việt Nam’s national men’s football team have maintained their 100th spot in the latest International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) rankings released on Thursday.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s national men’s football team have maintained their 100th spot in the latest International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) rankings released on Thursday.

Though their ranking remained unchanged, Việt Nam gained five more points over the previous month for a total of 1,229 points. As Việt Nam recorded no losses during the 2018 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup, they continue to hold the top place in the Southeast Asian region, followed by the Philippines (116th in the world ranking) and Thailand (118th).

Việt Nam held the 99th position in June 2011 and the 84th place in September 1998.

Belgium top the world rankings, followed by France, Brazil, Croatia, England, Portugal and Uruguay.

Europe has the most teams in the word’s top 50 for this month with 31 teams, while there are five from Africa and three from Asia. — VNS
