HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s top male tennis player Lý Hoàng Nam has left the country for a training course in Spain in preparation for the 2019 season.
Nam, who won three gold medals for Becamex Bình Dương at the National Sports Games early this week, will spend a month training.
He will be back for the Việt Nam Open on January 1-12 in Đà Nẵng, his first international competition of the year.
"My number one target is to get in the world top 300 in 2019. Last year I lost at the semi-finals of the SEA Games. In the 29th SEA Games next year I hope to play better to win a gold medal for Việt Nam because I am one of two top seeds in the region now," Nam said.
Nam is currently No 406 in the world. — VNS
