HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese basketball club Saigon Heat continued their perfect start to the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) season on Wednesday, beating CLS Knights in Indonesia 76-64 in their third game.

It was the first away win for the Heat, having racked up two home wins previously.

The Heat dominated the game from the opening whistle and held a 35-27 lead at the half, thanks in large part to a three-point barrage.

The hosts then fought back to narrow the gap to two points in the third quarter. However, led by Trevon Hughes, who scored 14 points in the third quarter, the Heat extended their lead to 55-45.

In the final period, the visitors poured it on against the ineffective Indonesian side to secure the 76-64 victory.

Hughes was named game MVP with 30 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two blocks.

The Heat next take on fellow table-toppers the Formosa Dreamers of Chinese Taipei at their home at CIS Arena in HCM City on Sunday. — VNS
