HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam national women’s football team have risen up one spot to No 36 in FIFA’s latest world rankings.

The team entered the quarter-finals of the Asian Games in Indonesia in August. This result helped VN improve their rankings with 1,638 points.

Việt Nam remain seventh in Asia, behind rivals Thailand in sixth.

The top five teams in Asia are Australia, world No 6, Japan (No 7), North Korea (No 11), South Korea (No 14) and China (No 15).The world’s top three belongs to the US, Germany and England. — VNS
