HÀ NỘI — Thái Sơn Nam crushed Sài Gòn FC 5-0 in the first leg’s fifth round of the National HDBank Futsal Tournament on May 24.
The match was held at Tiên Sơn Sports Arena in Đà Nẵng city.
Both the teams needed three points to advance to the next round. As Thái Sơn Nam pressed with high speed to seek early goals, Sài Gòn FC focused on stopping the attacks of their rival.
In the 19th minute, Thái Sơn Nam broke the deadlock with a shot by Xuân Du in the left wing to score the opener.
Thái Sơn Nam continued to dominate the game after the break.
Taking full advantage of the errors in Sài Gòn FC’s defence line, Quang Toàn doubled the score for Thái Sơn Nam to 2-0.
Sài Gòn FC fought back strongly to narrow the gap, but Thái Sơn Nam scored three more goals.
With this win, Thái Sơn Nam are second in the rankings with 10 points, three points less than the top team, Hải Phương Nam-Gia Định University. The two teams will play each other in the final of the first leg on May 27.
Earlier, Sanatech Sanest Khánh Hòa easily defeated Hoàng Thư Đà Nẵng 11-2, making it the match with the most goals in this year’s event. — VNS
